Rebecca Capistrant, LPC

Rebecca is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults and older adolescents to address stress, anxiety, depression, and various types of trauma, including medical, religious, and developmental. She also works with adults who are experiencing career and work issues or facing difficult life transitions including grief and illness.

Rebecca received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Bradley University before embarking on a ten-year teaching career in the Fulton County School System. When she decided to change careers to counseling, Rebecca pursued and received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ohio.

Rebecca understands the transformative power of feeling known and seen and takes a collaborative approach with her clients to ensure that they achieve their goals for therapy.

Rebecca utilizes gold-standard, evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where appropriate. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an advanced therapy that is particularly effective in resolving the effects of trauma. EMDR is often used during an intensive, or a concentrated number of sessions, that can produce in a few days the gains seen over months in single sessions. You can get information about Rebecca’s EMDR intensives here.

Rebecca joined Restorative Counseling in 2021. She sees clients in the Roswell and Buckhead offices, and via telehealth.

When she’s not working with her clients, you might find her hiking, playing board games, or trying out a new craft project.
