Jahna Shiovitz, LPC
Jahna is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families, helping them uncover the deeper reasons behind their patterns—whether it’s substance use, relationship challenges, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, ADHD, or major life transitions. She believes real change happens when people begin to see their struggles not as failures, but as meaningful parts of their story that have shaped who they are. Many of her clients come in feeling stuck, exhausted, or unsure of how to move forward, and she provides the support and tools to help them gain clarity and create lasting change.
She is especially passionate about working with people in long-term recovery, those who are newly sober, or those wanting to reduce the role substances play in their life. She understands substance use as a way to cope with pain, stress, unresolved trauma or emotional struggles, and she helps clients move from shame to self-compassion. Through honest conversations and skill-building, she supports individuals, couples and families in breaking unhealthy cycles and creating a life they feel proud of.
Beyond substance use, she enjoys working with adults who feel trapped in patterns of self-doubt, emotional dysregulation, or relationship difficulties. She knows how overwhelming it can be when anxiety, depression, or past experiences make it hard to trust yourself or connect with others. Her approach is warm and deeply supportive, creating a space where clients feel understood while also being challenged to grow.
As a mother, she also enjoys supporting women through the challenges of postpartum life. She understands how disorienting and isolating new motherhood can feel and helps clients navigate this transition with more confidence, balance, and self-compassion.
Jahna blends emotional insight with practical tools to help clients regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and shift unhelpful patterns. Her work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also utilizes the Prepare/Enrich program to help couples deepen their connection.
Jahna sees clients in the Buckhead office and via telehealth. She also leads a weekly DBT skills group for adults focused on managing emotions, navigating stress, and improving relationships. To learn more about this group and how to join in click here.
